example 1

[0035] A solution was prepared consisting of 1.5 g of polyvinyl chloride, 300 mg of polyethylene glycol 600 and 13.50 g of cyclohexanone. Then separately 1.00 g of gentamicin sulfate (AK628) was dissolved in 1 ml of distilled water. Separately, 0.50 g of sodium lauryl sulfate was dissolved in 0.75 ml of water. In the polyvinyl chloride-PEG600-cycloethyl ketone-solution, first drop the gentamycin sulfate-water solution under stirring, and then drop the sodium lauryl sulfate aqueous solution. The cyclohexanone was evaporated by immersing a conventional PVC polyamide fiber hose (d=6 mm) in the resulting suspension, followed by drying at room temperature. This produces a firmly adherent coating on the hose surface. The weight of the coating was 16 mg.

example 2

[0037]A liquid was prepared consisting of 1.50 g of polyvinyl chloride, 300 mg of polyethylene glycol 600 and 13.50 g of cyclohexanone. Then 0.5 g of gentamicin sulfate (AK628) was dissolved in 1 ml of distilled water. Then 0.25 g of sodium lauryl sulfate was dissolved in 0.75 ml of water. In the polyvinyl chloride-PEG600-cyclohexanone-solution, firstly add gentamicin sulfate-water solution dropwise under stirring, then add sodium lauryl sulfate-water solution dropwise. The resulting suspension is sprayed with compressed air using a conventional spray gun onto a 2.5 cm long conventional PVC-polyamide fiber hose (d=6 mm). Allow the sprayed PVC hose to dry at room temperature. After the cyclohexanone volatilizes, a coating that firmly adheres to the surface of the hose is formed, and the weight of the coating is 18 mg.

Abstract

An antibiotic polymer combination/antibiotics polymer combination that ensures the continuous release of antibiotics over a period of several days under physiological conditions, and that can be used in human and veterinary medicine. Surprisingly, one or more antibiotic salts, which are sparingly soluble in water, from the groups comprising aminoglycoside antibiotics, lincosamide antibiotics, tetracycline antibiotics, glycopeptide antibiotics, quinolone antibiotics and chlorhexidine, are suspended in homogeneous polymer mixtures, which comprise one or more hydrophobic, nonionic polymers from the groups comprising poly(vinyl, chloride), post-chlorinated poly(vinyl chloride), poly(vinylidene chloride), poly(vinyl fluoride), poly(vinylidene fluoride) and copolymers comprising vinyl chloride and one or more nonionic monomers, and which comprise one or more hydrophilic polymers from the groups comprising polyethers, and this suspension forms composites that exhibit the release of an active ingredient over a period of days in an aqueous medium.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to an antibiotic- / antibiotic-polymer complex which guarantees the release of antibiotics for several days under physiological conditions and which can be used in human and veterinary medicine. Background technique [0002] Drains, catheters, foils and mesh-shaped medical products made of plastic are used in both human and veterinary medicine as temporary or permanent implants to absorb secretions, irrigate, cover and immobilize. The problem here is especially in the case of drains and catheters, that micro-organisms can move along this plastic tube into the body, thus creating a local infection which may continue to spread inside the body without treatment. Similar problems will also be encountered when using external fixation. In addition, microorganisms can also invade the body along the wound in the same way. Dental implants are also known to be problematic with implant surface infection. It is thus necessary to have...
