G.8032v1 supported a single ring topology and G.8032v2 supports multiple rings/ladder topology.

The present invention relates to a protection switching method in a communication network, the communication network including plurality of communication devices forming a linear chain and at least one non-ERPS on the nodes ERPS (Ethernet Ring Protection Switching) device connecting terminal ports of the linear chain and thereby forming a ring. In one embodiment this is accomplished by instantiating ERPS on each communication device that forms a linear chain and on each non-terminal ports of the linear chain, identifying a node or link fault in the network, wherein the link or node fault is detected by Continuity Check Message (CCM), Loss of Light (LOL), Loss of Signal (LOS), Loss of periodic continuity check messages (IEEE 802.1 ag) or any other mechanisms thereof, blocking ports of the communication device in response to the detection of fault, periodically broadcasting a fault message by the blocked ports of the communication devices, wherein the message gets terminated at the ports of the communication device within the linear chain network without reaching the non-ERPS device, flushing the Media Access Control (MAC) table entry upon receipt of the fault message by all the communication device and unblocking of a root port link (RPL) of the linear for providing an alternate path to route network traffic after receipt of the fault message.

The invention discloses a method and a system for implementing flexible Ethernet protection switching based on an overhead reserving field, and relates to the field of flexible Ethernet. The method comprises the following steps as follows: the overhead reserving field in an overhead frame specified by a flexible Ethernet FlexE protocol is used as automatic protection switching (APS) overhead, andthe APS overhead corresponding to the first 20 frames in a multiframe defined by the FlexE protocol is used for carrying APS information of a corresponding time slot; if a service supported by the FlexE protocol is corresponding to the plurality of time slots, a sending terminal inserts the APS overhead into the multiframe corresponding to the time slot in the plurality of time slots correspondingto the service, and sends the same to a receiving terminal via an APS information transmission channel; and the receiving terminal selects the APS overhead corresponding to the multiframe overhead toserve as the APS information of the service. According to the method and system provided by the invention, the switching can be achieved via a switching command, with no need to depend on line warning, and the scene that the line interface does not have the warning and thus the service is interrupted can be processed.

The method , the system and the DHCP server are applied in an Ethernet ring protection switching (ERPS) ring network which is composed of (2N+1) sets of core equipment. The method comprises the following steps of receiving a DHCP request which is transmitted by a client and carries virtual gateway address information that corresponds with a VRRP group by the DHCP server; when the total number of the IP addresses which are already distributed to an address pool that corresponds with the virtual gateway address information does not reach a threshold, performing feedback of the IP address to the client according to the address pool which corresponds with the virtual gateway address information; and when the total number of the IP addresses which are already distributed to the address pool that corresponds with the virtual gateway address information reaches the threshold, performing feedback of the IP address to the client according to the address pool which corresponds with real gateway address information. Therefore problems of performance bottleneck of the core equipment and incapability of realizing real-time networking of new users are settled.

The method comprises: S1, two links carrying out service data configuration and issuing are established between a source terminal and a destination terminal, wherein one of the two links serves as a main link and the other one serves as a standby one, the source terminal and the destination terminal are provided with main control protection modules respectively, and the main link and the standby line are equipped with Ethernet OAM units for realizing end-to-end OAM intercommunication of links; S2, the Ethernet OAM units send OAM messages by means of FPGA periodic packet sending, wherein the OAM messages include OAM CV frames for detecting link alarm information and APS frames with cfm ids and the APS frame of the main link is not enabled and the APS frame of the standby link is enabled; and S3, the main control protection modules determine the link states according to the OAM messages of the main link and the standby link respectively; and if a fault occurs at the main link or the main link works normally again or a fault occurs at the standby link after switching of the main link, the main control protection modules of the source terminal and the destination terminal issue a switching command to carry out link switching.
