In a variety of applications, a shock mount or isolation mount is a mechanical fastener that connects two parts elastically. They are used for shock and vibration isolation. Isolation mounts allow a piece of equipment to be securely mounted to a foundation and/or frame and, at the same time, allow it to float independently from the substrate.

Shock mount assembly with polymeric thimble tube

A shock mount assembly is provided, which generally includes a spacer and a thimble. The spacer includes a spacer flange and a spacer tube projecting from the spacer flange. The spacer tube includes an inwardly projecting shoulder having an inner diameter. The thimble includes a metal thimble base having a flange and an internally threaded post projecting from the flange. The threaded post has at least one hole passing through a wall thereof. The thimble also includes a plastic hollow thimble stem. The stem includes at least one hole passing through a wall of the lower portion thereof, the hole having a leg extending inwardly from one of the walls thereof. The leg includes a radially inwardly extending tab sized, shaped and positioned to engage the hole passing through the wall of the threaded post in a snap fitted arrangement when the threaded post is inserted into the stem. The stem also includes projecting from a top end thereof a plurality of fingers spaced about a periphery thereof. Each of the fingers has an outwardly projecting portion defining a circumferential lip having an outer diameter larger than the inner diameter of the shoulder of the spacer tube of said spacer. The stem is telescopically receivable in the spacer tube such that when the stem is fully inserted in the spacer tube, the lip engages the shoulder in a snap fitted

Combination wind screen and microphone shock mount

A mount for a microphone that includes an optional windscreen is disclosed. The mount includes preferably two resilient microphone supports that each comprise a resilient microphone ring attached to a plurality of resilient ring bands. Each ring can accommodate and frictionally retain microphones of various sizes and diameters. Each microphone support is fixed at a lower end thereof to a microphone support base which has least one mounting aperture therein. The mount further includes an elongated generally cylindrical cage that has a front open end, a rear open end, and an acoustically-permeable rigid wall. A bottom surface of the cage includes a resilient base fixture that includes at least one mounting aperture therein. A pair of reticulated foam hemispheric end caps are preferably included that are slidably, frictionally retained within the open ends of the cage. A rigid, preferably metallic or plastic cage mounting bracket is included that has at least one mounting aperture therein and includes a pivot mounting means. A rigid mounting post is pivotally and selectively fixed to the pivot mounting means of the cage. A pair of mounting bolts are included that secure the cage mounting bracket, the resilient base fixture of the cage, and the microphone support base together. The cage preferably further includes an electric microphone connector that is fixed through the rigid wall of the cage, and a windscreen cover that may be selectively mounted around the cage to provide wind noise dampening.

Sealing corrosion proof protection method of rope-suspension bridge cable system

The invention discloses a sealing and anti-corrosion protection method of a suspension bridge cable system, and belongs to an anti-corrosion protection method of a bridge cable. The method helps divide the whole cable system into 7 types of surfaces: an outer surface of a main cable of a wire wrapping section; the outer surface of the main cable of a non-wire wrapping section; the outer surface of a main cable saddle exposing a strand; the outer surfaces of a cable strand inside an anchor chamber, a sling wire rope, as well as a railing rope and a side rope of a maintaining roadway; the outer surfaces of a cable clamp, a cable saddle (sleeve) and a saddle, and exposed surfaces of bolts and nuts; the outer surfaces of an anchor cup, a sling clamp, a sling shock mount, and columns and brackets of the maintaining roadway; and gap sealing surfaces of the cable clamp, a cable jacket girth seam, an abutted seam and a top saddle opening. The 7 types of the surfaces are treated by different methods, and the sealing and anti-corrosion method is complete. In the method, novel sealing materials and anti-corrosion paints are used, which has good sealing performance, long anti-corrosion service life and high strength, and ensures the durability of the suspension bridge cable system.
