The invention discloses a method for preparing a
polyacrylamide emulsion. The method comprises the following steps: mixing an
acrylamide monomer, a double-bond-containing anionic
monomer, a polymerizable emulsifier as shown in a formula 1 in the specification (n is an integer from 1-30, and m is an integer of 5-30), a chelating agent, an azo initiator, an oxidant and water to form an
aqueous solution, and regulating the pH value of the
aqueous solution to be 7-9; (2) mixing the emulsifier and an
organic solvent to form an oil solution; (3) mixing the
aqueous solution of which the pH value is 7-9 and the oil solution to form a water-in-
oil emulsion; and (4) removing
oxygen from the water-in-
oil emulsion, and adding a
reducing agent to react the water-in-
oil emulsion sequentially at a first temperature and a second temperature, wherein the second temperature is higher than the first temperature. By adopting the method, the
polyacrylamide emulsion which can be quickly dissolved in water, is good in stability of long-time storage, and has a relatively low content of
monomer remained can be prepared, and the
polyacrylamide has a relatively high
viscosity-average molecular weight.
