Abstract

The invention provides a Chinese herbal compound composition for prevention or treatment of diabetic eye diseases. The composition comprises a coptidis rhizome total extract and a rhizoma zingiberis recens extract in a weight ratio of 4:1-1:1. The invention also provides a preparation method and use of the Chinese herbal compound composition. The invention further provides use of the coptidis rhizome total extract. The Chinese herbal compound composition for prevention or treatment of diabetic eye diseases has the advantages of cheap and easily available raw materials, simple preparation method and convenient drug administration. Pharmacological research results show that the coptidis rhizome total extract involved in the invention has significantly better effect in prevention and treatment of type I and type II diabetic eye diseases than a coptidis rhizome total alksloid mixture. And through combined use of the coptidis rhizome total extract and the rhizoma zingiberis recens extract,the Chinese herbal compound composition provided by the invention also has further remarkably improved effect in prevention and treatment of type I and type II diabetic eye diseases.
