Abstract

The invention relates to a method for detecting main components of edible areca nut. The main components comprise one or several of alkaloids and phenol compounds. The method adopts a liquid chromatogram method to separate a sample solution. The sample solution is prepared by a method with the following steps of selecting an edible areca nut sample, drying, crushing, adding methanol, soaking for 10 to 15h at room temperature, extracting for 20 to 40min by ultrasonic waves, centrifuging, and obtaining a supernatant. The method has the advantage that the main chemical components of the dibble areca nut can be qualitatively and quantitatively studied, so as to provide reference for establishing a perfect quality control and safety evaluation system.
