The preparation process of the composite adsorbent comprises steps as follows: firstly, dropwise adding an alkaline solution of fumaric acid to an aluminum sulfate solution to prepare AlFu; secondly, dispersing dry AlFu into an N-methylpyrrolidone solution of polystyrene in a closed container, and ensuring that the process is conducted under closed, dry and anhydrous conditions; thirdly, adding dropwise the solution to a large amount of water to prepare AlFu@PS microspheres. The preparation process is simple, n conditions are controllable, operation is simple, and the prepared AlFu@PS microspheres are easy to separate and recover, and have higher adsorption and removal capability on phosphate in water.
