The method uses a lanthanum nitrate solution as a lanthanum source and a glucose solution as a carbon source, and comprises the following steps: taking methanol, adding the methanol into an inner container of a reactor, sequentially adding tetrabutyl titanate, the lanthanum nitrate solution, the glucose solution and lauric acid under theaction of a magnetic stirrer, performing uniform mixing, placing the inner container filled with the obtained mixed solution in the reactor, carrying out a reaction, cooling the obtained solution toroom temperature in order to obtain a solid precipitate, wash the solid precipitate with anhydrous ethanol, drying the washed solid precipitate, and testing the photocatalytic degradation effect of the lanthanum-carbon co-doped modified titanium dioxide on main components of the automobile exhaust gas by using simulated sunshine in order to determine optimal doping amounts of lanthanum and carbon.The above prepared photocatalyst has the advantages of high degradation efficiency, reduction of exhaust gas pollution, and improvement of the air quality.
