Bergamottin (5-geranoxypsoralen) is a natural furanocoumarin found in the pulp of pomelos and grapefruits. It is also found in the peel and pulp of the bergamot orange, from which it was first isolated and from which its name is derived. Along with the chemically related compound 6',7'-dihydroxybergamottin, it is believed to be responsible for a number of grapefruit–drug interactions, in which the consumption of citrus containing one or both of these compounds (especially grapefruit) affects the metabolism of a variety of pharmaceutical drugs.

The present invention provides compositions comprising dihydrokaempferol. The compositions of the present invention can be topically applied to the skin of a subject. The present invention further provides methods of applying compositions comprising dihydrokaempferol to improve or treat skin conditions. The compositions of the present invention can also be applied to improve the overall appearance of the skin.

The invention provides a composition containing ergothioneine as well as a preparation method and application of the composition. A first aspect of the present application provides a composition comprising ergothioneine, anthocyanin, and bergamotin. Anthocyanin can effectively prevent excessive generation of melanin and improve existing melanin pigmentation to a certain extent, and meanwhile bergamottin can inhibit melanin generation and improve melanin pigmentation through multiple signal channels. On the basis, the two components are compounded and matched with ergothioneine with certain anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidation effects, and the melanin pigmentation improving effect better than that of single use or reuse of the two components can be achieved.
