Application of porcine bile acid components in the preparation of drugs for treating irritable bowel syndrome

This invention discloses the application of porcine bile acid components in the preparation of drugs for treating irritable bowel syndrome (IBS-D). The study found that the content of porcine bile acid components in the peripheral feces of IBS-D patients treated with traditional Chinese medicine was significantly increased. Furthermore, compared with a healthy control group, the content of porcine bile acid components in the peripheral fecal samples of IBS-D patients was significantly reduced. Further research revealed that porcine deoxycholic acid and natural traditional Chinese medicine porcine bile powder can significantly improve diarrhea and abdominal pain symptoms in TNBS-induced mice by inhibiting tryptophan hydroxylase 1 activity and reducing peripheral serotonin levels. This invention suggests the application value of porcine bile acid components in the treatment of IBS-D.
