In some implementations, a universal integrated circuit card (UICC) of a computing device activates a primary mobile network operator (MNO) subscription profile associated with a primary MNO based on: (i) whether the computing device is connected to a network, (ii) whether the primary MNO subscription profile is active, and (iii) a number of unacknowledged messages to a message that is periodically sent from the computer to a server associated with the primary MNO. The primary MNO may provide network services to a first geographic area and a secondary MNO may provide network services to a second geographic area. After the computing device moves to the second geographic location from the first geographic location, the eUICC received a secondary MNO profile associated with the secondary MNO, activates the secondary MNO profile, and deactivates the primary MNO profile.

Each operator operates a mobile network according to values of operating parameters maintained by the operator. The apparatus may have a device provided with connectivity to the production operating parameters and values maintained by a first operator, where the device automatically detects a new operating parameter or value maintained by a first operator and in response uses a data network to automatically cause a second mobile operator to update its operating parameters or values to reflect the new or updated local parameter of the first operator.

A system and method for managing subscriber mobile devices comprising:

A system for providing multiple services over mobile network using multiple IMSIs is disclosed. The system includes a mobile device and an IMSI providing server. A plurality of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) associated with the identified plurality of services is calculated on a per service basis. A system and method are described in which direct communication between a removable tamper-resistant module in a mobile terminal and a third party server is permitted only after security information is transmitted indirectly through a secure server in a mobile network operator that provides mobile communication services to the mobile terminal. The third party server is logically located outside of the mobile network operator. The secure server is configured to be able to communicate with the removable tamper-resistant module via the secure communication link. The information is transmitted from the removable tamper-resistant module to the third party server or from the third party server to the removable tamper-resistant module and includes a key for encryption or decryption or a certificate for verifying data or program transmissions therebetween.

Provided is a system that enables a device to perform a communication function. A communication method for a user equipment (UE) may include: sending a subscription request for a first network; receiving information regarding an identifier of a first profile associated with the first network and the date on which the first profile is deactivated; and determining whether a subscription to the first network is allowed on the basis of the date information. Accordingly, in an environment such as Universal Terrestrial Radio Access Network (UTRAN), GSM/EDGE Radio Access Network (GERAN) or Evolved UTRAN (EUTRAN), when a device having an eSIM attempts to make a re-subscription to an MNO, or when the device attempts to make a re-subscription or additional subscription to an MNO according to a national electricity or infrastructure plan for M2M equipment, it is possible to accommodate MNO policies and determine whether a re-subscription to an MNO is allowed according to the MNO policies. When MNO re-subscription is not allowed, a lock may be placed so as to update or reconfigure communication and security information in an easy and safe manner.

A technique for managing credit for subscribers of mobile communications services involves using a mobile credit intermediary to manage the credit in a way that makes the credit more fungible than traditional prepaid mobile subscription plans. In an embodiment, the mobile credit intermediary maintains a credit pool that reflects pooled credit of a group of multiple different mobile subscribers and then incrementally purchases, using the credit pool, prepaid mobile minutes in quantities that reflect anticipated consumption of mobile communications services by the group. The incremental purchases are made in increments that are smaller than the balance of the credit pool such that credit remains in individual credit accounts of the mobile subscribers. The credit that remains in the individual credit accounts can be used as a currency for other transactions, for example, for the purchase of goods and services from entities other than the mobile network operator.
