164 results about "Nuts and bolts" patented technology

In physics, in the theory of general relativity, spacetimes with at least a 1-parameter group of isometries can be classified according to the fixed point-sets of the action. Isolated fixed points are called nuts. The other possibility is that the fixed point set is a metric 2-sphere, called bolt. The number of nuts and bolts can also be related to topological invariants, such as the Euler characteristic. This classification is widely used in the analysis of gravitational instantons.

Rapidly assembleable and disassembleable display rack

Opposed walls of three hingedly attached grid walls are secured to one another by a first strap having folded back ends for partially encircling a segment of a wire element of each opposed grid wall. A second strap is placed adjacent the first strap with the ends of the second strap bearing against the partially encircled wire elements to retain the wire elements within the respective folded back ends. Nylon ties or bolts may be used to secure the first and second straps to one another. Two or more pairs of first and second straps support a grid wall serving as a shelf and the shelf may be secured to the straps by pairs of nylon ties. To provide mobility to the display rack, fixed or pivotable wheels are supported by the lowermost pairs of first and second straps and may be secured thereto by nylon ties or by nut and bolt combinations. A billboard unit having four panels is formed by two three-segmented panels placed orthogonally upon one another to permit upward bending of the pairs of outer panels. A slide having two orthogonal channels interconnect with and retain adjacent edges of the upwardly bent panels. The billboard unit may be secured in place at the top of the display rack with nylon ties. To disassemble the display rack, each nylon tie is snipped to permit removal of the elements of the display rack and the first and second straps a re disengaged from one another, whereby the display rack is quickly dismantled for storage and/or transport.

Secure adjustable strike plate

A strike plate assembly for mounting on a door frame is disclosed. The door frame forms a clearance hole for receiving the strike plate assembly. A mounting plate is affixed to the door frame in the clearance hole. The mounting plate forms an opening for receiving a bolt from a door knob or lock, such as a dead bolt lock, and forms two substantially parallel slots. A strike plate is affixed to the mounting plate. The strike plate also forms an opening for receiving a bolt from a door knob or lock and forms two substantially parallel slots which are at right angles to the two substantially parallel slots of the mounting plate. Each of the parallel slots of strike plate crosses over a corresponding one of the parallel slots of the mounting plate when the strike plate is properly affixed to the mounting plate. A pair of nuts and bolts affix the strike plate to the mounting plate. One bolt fits through each of the parallel slots of the strike plate and the corresponding parallel slot of the mounting plate. The pair of nuts secure the pair of bolts such that the position of the bolts can be adjusted in the parallel slots of the mounting plate and in the parallel slots of the strike plate, allowing the strike plate to be adjusted both vertically and horizontally with respect to the mounting plate. The opening formed by the strike plate substantially overlaps the opening formed by the mounting plate, although the opening formed by the mounting plate would normally be substantially larger than the opening formed by the strike plate.

Compaction groove screw for Halfen channel, support structure and mounting method

The invention discloses a compaction groove screw for a Halfen channel, a support structure and a mounting method. The compaction groove screw comprises a groove-type nut and a bolt, wherein a row of rectangular grooves are formed in each of two transverse ends of the nut, a screw rod is tightly meshed with the lowest circle of a meshing thread of the nut, a clamping plate provided with a central hole is arranged outside the upper end of the screw rod in a sleeving manner, and a spring is mounted outside the screw rod and between the bolt head and the central hole of the clamping plate. The compaction groove screw is preassembled into a whole with pretightening force in a manufacture place for transportation. The support structure is an L-shaped porous butt strap which comprises a horizontal butt strap arranged on an open surface of the Halfen channel and a vertical butt strap for support and is provided with a mounting hole, the upper part of the clamping plate of the compaction groove screw after mounting is arranged above the horizontal butt strap in a clamped manner, and the lower part is arranged in the Halfen channel and in inserted connection with teeth of the Halfen channel. During mounting, all that is needed is to perform manual pushing-in, downwards pressing, rotation, popping, tightly screwing and the like on the compaction groove screw to finish mounting, and axial position adjustment can be realized. Efficient, convenient and accurate mourning is realized, and examination, dismounting and replacement are convenient. Components do not move easily, operation is facilitated, the integrity is good, the safety is high, and the compaction groove screw and the support structure can be applied to railway tunnels, bridge supporting and fixing contact nets, communication signals, electrical equipment and the like.
