Problems solved by technology

Eggshell membrane (ESM) is a layer of complex natural mesh biological fibers located between eggshell and protein, mainly composed of protein, with amino, carboxyl, hydroxyl and other functional groups distributed on the surface, it is a cheap and easily degradable biosorption agent, has a good application prospect, but its disadvantage is that the adsorption capacity is small
Polyethyleneimine (PEI) is a macromolecular polymer containing a large amount of primary, secondary, and tertiary amines, which has excellent adsorption properties for heavy metal ions, but because of its water solubility, it cannot be used directly as an adsorbent, which also limits its use in Application in the adsorption and removal of heavy metal ions

Abstract

The invention discloses a method for preparing chromium (VI) detoxifying adsorbent. The chromium (VI) detoxifying adsorbent is made from eggshell membrane (ESM) which is 86.2% to 96.2% by weight, and further comprises modifier polyethyleneimine (PEI) which is 3.8% to 13.8% by weight. The chromium (VI) detoxifying adsorbent prepared by the method has the advantages of low cost, simple components, capability of realizing waste recovery and the like. The method for preparing the chromium (VI) detoxifying adsorbent is simple and free of secondary pollution. Toxic chromium (VI) can be converted into nontoxic chromium (III) by the aid of the chromium (VI) detoxifying adsorbent so that detoxification of the chromium (VI) is realized. In addition, the method can also be applicable to treatment ofchromium residue.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to a preparation method of an adsorbent for detoxification of chromium (VI) (namely Cr(VI)) and its application in chromium removal. Background technique [0002] Cr(VI) and Cr(III) are the two main valence states of chromium in water. Among them, Cr(III) is an essential element to assist carbohydrate metabolism in mammals, while Cr(VI) is highly toxic and has carcinogenicity, teratogenicity and mutagenicity to organisms. Adsorption is often used to remove Cr(VI) in wastewater. Common adsorbents include activated carbon, microbial cells, nanomaterials, etc. Among them, activated carbon is the most widely used, but it is difficult to separate and the cost of subsequent treatment is high. [0003] Due to their environmental friendliness and biocompatibility, the application of natural biomaterials in water treatment has attracted increasing attention. Eggshell membrane (ESM) is a layer of complex natural mesh biological fibers loc...
