Abstract

The invention belongs to the field of cytobiology, and relates to application of a caspase-3 inhibitor to prepare a preparation for promoting nerve regeneration after cerebral stroke. A cerebral stroke mouse model animal experiment result shows that in the cerebral stroke restoration stage, expression of caspase-3 in newborn neural progenitor cells of subventricular zone and dentate gyrus is obviously increased, in-vitro cultured and extracted neural progenitor cells show that caspase-3 restricts the self-renewal capability of neural progenitor cells but does not cause apoptosis of cells; caspase-3 regulates and controls nerve regeneration by reducing phosphorylation of Akt; and experiment result proves that the caspase-3 inhibitor inhibits activity of caspase-3 and is capable of substantially promoting propagation and migration of neural progenitor cells of subventricular zone, thereby promoting regeneration of neuron and nerve function recovery after cerebral stroke.
