Abstract

The oxidized chitosan quaternary ammonium salt is a substance formed by selectively oxidizing the 2,3- carbon-carbon bonds in the chitosan quaternary ammonium salt saccharide unit into formyl groups. The preparation method comprises the following steps: selectively oxidizing carbon-carbon bonds of the chitosan quaternary ammonium salt in a dark place by using sodium periodate, stopping the reaction, purifying and drying to obtain the high-purity oxidized chitosan quaternary ammonium salt. The oxidized chitosan quaternary ammonium salt contains both high-reaction-activity formyl groups and quaternary ammonium groups, and thus, has the crosslinking and antimicrobial / antibacterial functions, thereby being a new-generation functional crosslinking agent.
