The filtrate loss reducer is prepared from the following components: a polymer monomer and nano silicon, wherein the polymer monomer is prepared from acrylic acid, 2-acrylamide-2-methyl propanesulfonic acid,acrylamide and vinylpyrrolidone; the filtrate loss reducer is prepared from the following components in parts by weight: 1-5 parts of acrylic acid, 1-4 parts of 2-acrylamido-2-methyl propanesulfonic acid, 6-12 parts of acrylamide, 1-3 parts of vinylpyrrolidone and 0.5-1 part of the nano silicon. Compared with the prior art, the filtrate loss reducer provided by the invention has excellent heat resistance, salt resistance as well as high temperature and high pressure reduction performance; the filtrate loss reducer has a better filtrate loss reduction effect in the drilling fluid; an acting effect between functional groups on a side chain and clay particles is obvious, so that a formed mud cake is good in quality; the filtrate loss reducer has a good filtrate loss reduction effect both in the drilling fluid of fresh water and saline water.
