Abstract

The invention relates to a cultivation medium and method for cultivating lentinula edodes by using wood shavings instead of traditional miscellaneous wood chips. The optimal formula of the medium forcultivating bagged materials comprises the following raw materials in percentage by mass: 56% of traditional miscellaneous wood chips, 24% of wood shavings, 18% of bran, 1% of gypsum powder and 1% ofwhite sugar. The average bag yield reaches 0.83 kg, and the biological efficiency reaches 83%. The wood shavings are mainly from wastes produced by wood processing tree species such as red oak, Sapele, birch, fraxinus mandshurica, black walnut and the like. Lentinula edodes cultivation is carried out by using the wood shavings instead of the traditional miscellaneous wood chips, the mycelial growth speed, and the agronomic characters, yield, biological efficiency, economic benefits and the like of sporocarps are researched, and results show that lentinula edodes cultivation by using the wood shavings instead of the traditional miscellaneous wood chips is feasible.
