The board is prepared from the following raw materials: gold tailing powder, a resin material, a foaming agent, a flame retardant, a solvent, a surface modifier and a dispersing agent, the preparation method comprises the following steps: 1) grinding the gold tailings into fine powder; 2) adding a surface modifier spray into the gold tailing powder, mixing and pre-activating; (3) pre-mixing the pre-activated gold tailing powder with a resin material, a foaming agent, a flame retardant and a dispersing agent, and then adding a solvent into a mixing machine for blending and pre-swelling; 4) pumping the slurry into a mold and closing the mold; pressurizing, heating, cooling to normal temperature, and removing pressure to obtain an elastic foaming body; 5) heating the elastic foaming body for secondary foaming to obtain a secondary foaming body; and (6) heating the secondary foaming body to prepare the flame-retardant foaming thermal insulation board.
