Abstract

The invention discloses glycerol modified unsaturated polyester resin used for daylighting tiles. The unsaturated polyester resin is prepared from, by weight, 80-150 parts of glycerin, 180-250 parts of monoacid, 180-250 parts of binary acid, 53-300 parts of dihydric alcohol, 250-380 parts of a cross-linking agent, 0.02-0.13 part of an anti-oxidant, 0.01-0.15 part of a catalyst and 0.05-0.15 part of a polymerization inhibitor. A preparation method of the unsaturated polyester resin is also provided. Reaction is performed on the monoacid and the glycerin under the action of the catalyst so thatmono-glycerol benzoate can be generated; the binary acid, the dihydric alcohol, the anti-oxidant and the polymerization inhibitor are added to perform further condensation polymerization; the glycerolmodified unsaturated polyester resin can be obtained after the crosslinking of the cross-linking agent; and the addition of the anti-oxidant can prevent a product from yellowing. Thus, the problem ofthe dark color of the glycerol modified unsaturated polyester resin can be solved through the preparation method; and the glycerol modified unsaturated polyester resin is low in cost, good in light transmission and moderate in molecular weight, and has good physical properties, so that the glycerol modified unsaturated polyester resin can meet requirements for daylighting tile markets.
