Bone fixation device

A bone fixation device (1) is presented, comprising a wire (7) and a load distributor (9), the load distributor comprising: a contact side (2) having a contact region (11) which is pressed against the bone to be fixed upon tightening of the wire (7), and two opposite lateral sides (4) that are not in contact with the bone upon tightening of the wire (7). At least one of the lateral sides (4) is provided with a plurality of recesses (5) which do not extend into the contact sides (2). The contact side (2) of the load distributor (9) has a continuous smooth surface which is configured to slide across the bone without damaging the bone when the load distributor (9) is pulled longitudinally across the bone during application.

Bone plate with length adjusting elongate hole

PendingEP4767957A2Bone platesAnatomyBone fixation devices
A bone plate (100) incorporating a length adjusting elongate hole (130) formed in a shaft portion (115) thereof, along with corresponding methods of use, are disclosed herein. In one embodiment, the length adjusting elongate hole (130) is arranged and configured to receive one or more bone fixation devices (e.g., bone screws). In use, the bone fixation device positioned within the length adjusting elongate hole (130) may be partially loosened, without removal, to enable the patient's bone to be adjusted (e.g., loosening the bone fixation device within the length adjusting elongate hole allows the surgeon to adjust the position of the patient's bone, and hence the bone fixation device coupled thereto, relative to the bone plate). Once properly adjusted, the bone fixation device positioned within the length adjusting elongate hole (130) may be retightened. In various embodiments, the length adjusting elongate hole (130) is arranged and configured so that, in use, each of the plurality of bone fixation openings remains available to a surgeon.

Clavicle fixation system

ActiveUS12672905B2AnatomyClavicle bone
Clavicle fixation devices and methods thereof. A clavicle fixation device includes an elongated plate extending between first and second ends, the elongated plate defining a plurality of spaced apart screw holes. At least one pair of relief cuts extends into the elongated plate on opposite sides thereof, the at least one pair of relief cuts axially positioned between a pair of the spaced apart screw holes and at least one pair of suture holes along opposite sides of the elongated plate, the at least one pair of suture holes axially positioned between a pair of the spaced apart screw holes. At least one pair of relief cuts is axially aligned with a pair of suture holes to define combined holes on opposite sides of the elongated plate.

Devices and methods for bone fixation

ActiveUS12667397B2AnatomyUltrasonic vibration
Devices and methods for bone fixation including a bone fixation system including a bone plate or intervertebral spacer including a plurality of apertures dimensioned to receive bone fasteners and at least one polymeric element capable of transitioning from a solid state to a flowable state. The polymeric element transitions to a flowable state as a result of exposure to ultrasonic vibration. The polymeric element is placed on the bone plate or intervertebral spacer adjacent a fastener in an aperture and acts to prevent rotational and / or translational movement of the fastener relative to the bone plate or intervertebral spacer.

A photothermally controllable antibacterial titanium alloy implant and its preparation method

PendingCN122297801ACardiovascular stentOsseointegration
This invention relates to the field of medical material manufacturing technology, and more specifically, to a photothermally controllable antibacterial titanium alloy implant and its preparation method. The implant substrate is titanium or a titanium alloy, and its surface is activated by alkaline heat treatment. Polydopamine and copper ions are polymerized in situ at room temperature to coat the implant substrate surface. The implant obtained by this invention has no significant toxicity to osteoblasts, excellent biocompatibility, and combines multiple functions such as synergistic antibacterial activity, high hydrophilicity, osteopromoting properties, photothermally controllable properties, and safe sustained release. It can be widely applied in medical implantation fields such as orthopedic implants, bone fixation devices, and cardiovascular stents, providing a safe, efficient, and feasible new solution for effectively addressing key issues such as clinical infection and poor osseointegration in medical titanium alloys.
