An aqueous hard surface cleaner with improved soil removal is provided and has, as components, the following:(a) either an anionic, nonionic, amphoteric surfactant, and mixtures thereof with optionally, a quaternary ammonium surfactant, the total amount of the surfactants being present in a cleaning effective amount;(b) at least one water-soluble or dispersible organic solvent having a vapor pressure of at least 0.001 mm Hg at 25° C., present in a solubilizing-or dispersion-effective amount;(c) Tetrapotassium ethylenediamine-tetraacetate (potassium EDTA) as a chelating agent, present in an amount effective to enhance soil removal in said cleaner; and(d) the remainder, water.

A low viscosity aqueous cleaning composition provides increasing viscosity upon dilution which provides a high viscosity diluted cleaning composition having solvents compatible with the rod micelle thickener and the cleaning system that clings for an extended period of time in a thickened form containing cleaning system ingredients that can penetrate and remove hard baked-on soils on vertical surfaces in cleaning units. The composition contains active cleaning ingredients (acid, alkaline and enzyme) that, in combination with thickening systems, provide the useful properties. The thickened materials can be applied on cold or hot surfaces and can successfully penetrate, soften and remove baked-on food soil on a variety of surfaces including oven walls, doors and grills, baking dishes, utensils, etc. The material is applied in the form of a thick diluted liquid spray or hot foam directly to the hardened soil, is permitted to penetrate the soil, resulting softened soils are then easily removed by hot or cold water rinse or by mechanical action such as scrubbing, scraping or wiping.

The invention provides an improved surface safe, aqueous, liquid hard surface cleaner which contains a nonionic surfactant, or combination of nonionic and anionic surfactants, a water soluble abrasive, namely, borax pentahydrate, in an amount which takes at least a portion of the abrasive out of solution, and water.

Liquid abrasive cleanser compositions sprayable through conventional manual trigger sprayers comprise a polyalkylene glycol, a nonionic surfactant, a pH adjusting agent, an abrasive, and water, wherein sprayability is made possible by the addition of the polyalkylene glycol. The present invention relates to a polymeric material comprising units capable of having a cationic charge at a pH of from about 4 to about 12; provided that said polymeric material has an average cationic charge density from about 2.75 or less units per 100 daltons molecular weight at a pH of from about 4 to about 12. The polymeric material is a suds enhancer and a suds volume extender for hand dishwashing compositions and personal care products such as soaps, shaving cream foam, foaming shaving gel, foam dephiliatories and shampoos. The invention provides an aqueous, hard surface cleaner with significantly improved residue removal and substantially reduced filming/streaking, and the cleaner comprises:(a) an effective amount of at least one organic solvent with a vapor pressure of at least 0.001 mm Hg at 25° C., and mixtures of such solvents;(b) an effective amount of either at least one anionic surfactant, or a mixture of anionic and nonionic surfactants;(c) an effective amount of a buffering system which comprises a nitrogenous buffer which will result in a pH of greater than 6.5; and(d) the remainder as substantially all water.

A substantially streak-free no-rinse hard surface cleaner composition is disclosed that comprises nonionic surfactant, alkanolamine; hydroxide and/or silicate builder, boric acid and/or borate salts, and water. The no-rinse cleaner is virtually streak-free by virtue of the added boric acid or borate. In a preferred embodiment, the substantially streak-free no-rinse cleaner comprises amine oxide surfactant, MEA, hydroxide, ethanol, sodium tetraborate pentahydrate and/or boric acid, and water. A disposable wipe impregnated with furniture polish or another surface treating liquid such as a hard surface cleaner or insect repellant is disclosed. The liquid is in the form of a dispersion which is a biliquid foam with a thickener, where the foam is structured as an oil-in-water complex. The dispersion has an oil portion having a polysiloxane and/or a hydrocarbon oil. There is also surfactant such as one nonionic surfactant and one polar surfactant. Water is also provided. The biliquid structure stabilizes the dispersion even with very low levels of surfactant, while the thickener retards migration of the impregnated liquid in response to gravity.
