A system, method, and article of manufacture are provided for retrieving multiple business objects across a network in one access operation. A business object and a plurality of remaining objects are provided on a persistent store. Upon receiving a request for the business object, it is established which of the remaining objects are related to the business object. The related objects and the business object are retrieved from the persistent store in one operation and it is determined how the retrieved related objects relate to the business object and each other. A graph of relationships of the business and related objects is instantiated in memory.

Next, the present embodiment selectively filters the information such that desired information is compiled. After the selective filtering process, the present embodiment forwards the desired information to the mobile device. In so doing, the present embodiment provides an approach which dynamically manages the content of information so as to efficiently, responsively, and inexpensively provide a mobile device user with desired information.

Disclosed is a system and method for performing a semantic operation on a social network. In an embodiment, the method comprises receiving a social network user context associated with a user of the social network; generating, through a semantic operation, an interest network based on the user context information; and filtering, ranking or augmenting, using at least one processor executing stored program instructions, a retrieval of information related to the social network based on the interest network; wherein the interest network comprises concepts represented by a data structure associated with the concepts in the interest network. In another embodiment, the method further comprises representing the interest network as an interest graph. In yet another embodiment, the semantic operation is a synthesis operation or retrieval operation performed on a knowledge representation.

First, a broadcast program having a program content is received and electronic program guide data including program information on the broadcast program is received. The list of links may be statically or dynamically generated with one or more links provided by a link server on the network. In one embodiment, accounting information relative to the number and type of links transferred to the user's computer is collected and may be forwarded to an associated billing computer located on the network.
