Automated Temperature Control System for Solid-Fueled Grills or Ovens

An automated temperature control system for a barbecue grill or other structure comprises an automated damper assembly coupled to a vent of said grill, which damper assembly opens and closes selectively to adjust the flow passage area of the grill's vent. The system further comprises an operating area temperature probe for communicating the temperature of the operating area of the grill to the automated damper assembly, such that the automated damper assembly may maintain a user-specified target operating temperature by way of affecting combustion rates within the grill. A remote control may also be provided to allow the user to input a desired temperature for the system to obtain and / or to change temperature information for the grill or other structure.

Method and system for producing a graphical password, and a terminal device

In the method a graphical password is produced for an electronic system, such as a database, a computer program or Internet pages, the password being composed of various identifier images that are clearly distinguishable from each other. The system can be located in a terminal device used by the user, such as a mobile phone or an object separate from the terminal device, to which the user can be connected via the terminal device. For producing the password, the electronic system includes an image archive, in which various partial images representing certain subareas of a whole identifier image have been saved in electronic form. The partial images are divided into subgroups so that the partial images of the same subgroup always represent the same subarea of the identifier image. The identifier images belonging to the graphical password are composed by selecting partial images from different subgroups and by combining the selected partial images into one complete identifier image.

Particulate matter removal apparatus

A filter is made with heat-insulating ceramic fibers, and where the filter is increased in pressure loss due to particulate matter captured after filtration of exhaust gas, gas flow is blocked, a heating element is used to heat the surface of the filter, thereby burning and removing particulate matter. The filter is of heat insulating properties, by which a heat insulating material is arranged near the particulate matter capturing face of the filter, and the heating element is incorporated between the surface of the filter and the heat insulating material. The filter can be regenerated at a higher heating efficiency in a smaller quantity of thermal energy. The heat insulating material is also used as a filter, by which the apparatus can be made more compact. A charging element is arranged upstream of the filter material, by which the filter material is increased in particulate matter capturing performance, thereby suppressing the rate of increase in the pressure loss and improving heating efficiency of particulate matter.

Apparatus and method for irradiating electron beam

An electron beam irradiation apparatus includes an electron beam emission section having an electron beam irradiating tube that emits an electron beam; an electron beam irradiation section for irradiating the emitted electron beam to a target; a transfer mechanism for transferring the target to the electron beam irradiation section; a rotation mechanism for rotating the target on its own axis when irradiating the electron beam; and a linear movement mechanism for generating a relative linear movement such that the electron beam irradiating tube passes right above the target, between the target and the electron beam irradiating tube, when irradiating the electron beam. The linear movement mechanism generates a relative linear movement such that the electron beam irradiating tube goes from an end portion of the target toward the center of the target and turns back before the center of the electron beam emitting portion of the electron beam irradiating tube reaches the center of the target.
