Remote control receiver device and ambient light photosensor device incorporated into a single composite assembly

An RC receiver device and an ambient light photosensor (ALPS) device are mounted on a single mounting device (e.g., circuit board or lead frame substrate) such that they are part of a single composite assembly. This reduces the amount of space that is consumed in electronic devices in which the assemblies are installed, which allows the electronic devices to be made smaller in size. In addition, implementing both the RC receiver device and the ALPS device in a single composite assembly lowers costs associated with manufacturing, assembling and shipping the composite assembly.

System and method for resizing tiles on a computer display

A system and method for resizing tiles on a computer display is provided. The tiles are automatically sized until a user takes control after which the user may manually size the tiles. Size limits may be set for the tiles. If an attempt is made to automatically resize a tile above a specified limit, then a notification may be sent to the user requesting approval for the new tile size. If the user does not approve the new size, then the tile will be placed in a manual sizing mode in which further automatic resizing is limited. If the user approves the new size, then further automatic resizing may occur without requesting further approval. The tiles are prevented from being automatically resized too frequently, which could be distracting or annoying to a user.

Methods and apparatus for distributing power in a computerized device

InactiveUS7142411B2Minimizes conductionMinimizes radiation of electromagneticDc network circuit arrangementsServersElectricityElectrical conductor
In a computerized device requiring a relatively large amount of power during operation (e.g., between approximately 10 kW to 15 kW) at a relatively large current (e.g., between approximately 200 and 300 amperes), an electrical conductor or power distribution assembly having a substantially flat, planar geometry electrically couples a power supply, via bus bars, to a midplane of the computerized device. The substantially flat planar geometry of the power distribution assembly minimizes conduction and radiation of electromagnetic interference (EMI) by the electrical conductor during operation of the computerized device.
