Abstract

The invention relates to a method and an application of a liquidambar formosana hance fruit total tannins extract. The method comprises the steps that: (1) liquidambar formosana hance fruit is subjected to reflux extraction by using 95% ethanol, such that an ethanol extract is obtained; (2) the ethanol extract is dissolved by using water; the pH value of the solution is regulated to 9-11 by using strong ammonia water or a sodium hydroxide aqueous solution; and the obtained solution is filtered; and (3) the pH value of a filtrate obtained by filtering is regulated to 1-2 by using concentrated hydrochloric acid; and the solution is extracted by using an organic solvent, such that the liquidambar formosana hance fruit total tannins extract is obtained. The invention also relates to an application of the liquidambar formosana hance fruit total tannins extract in preparing monoamine-oxidase-inhibiting medicines.
