Abstract

The invention discloses magnetic-field-assisted aerobic composting apparatus and method. The aerobic composting apparatus includes a composting reactor, a magnetic field generator, and an aerator. Themagnetic field generator is located outside the composting reactor and the aerator is arranged on the bottom of the composting reactor. The aerobic composting method includes steps of: (1) uniformlymixing an organic solid waste with auxiliary materials and adding water with uniform mixing to prepare a composting raw material; (2) adding the composting raw material to the aerobic composting apparatus, applying the magnetic field to perform continuous aeration, thus performing the composting. The apparatus and method can promote metabolism of microorganisms in the heap and quickly increase composting temperature, thereby reducing composting period and increasing compost maturity. The apparatus and the method, from the source, reduce generation of nitrous oxide during the composting processand reduce discharge of greenhouse gases, and also improve content of nitrogen in the composting product and increase fertility of same. The method is simple in operation and has good operability andgreat adaptability.
