Abstract

A methylotrophic bacillus strain (Bacillus methylotrophicus) for biocontrol and application thereof are disclosed. The bacterium Bacillus methylotrophicus BCN2 is deposited in the China General Microbiological Culture Collection Center under the accession number CGMCC No: 16443. The invention comprises isolation and culture of the strain and molecular identification of 16S rDNA; effective inhibiting effects of Methylotrophic Bacillus volatiles against common spoilage fungi (Fusarium oxysporum, Staphylococcus aureus, Trichoderma viride, Colletotrichum gloeosporioides, Penicillium expansum) ontwo-zone plate and loquat fruits and the antiseptic application of the volatile matter in loquat storage. The volatile antimicrobial substances produced by Bacillus methylotrophicus (BCN2) could not contact fruit directly, It can be used for preparing biocontrol fresh-keeping agent which can inhibit spoilage fungi such as Fusarium oxysporum, Staphylococcus aureus, Trichoderma viride, Colletotrichum gloeosporioides, Penicillium expansum and so on, and has wide bacteriostasis spectrum.
