This invention also provides a bacterial agent containing salt- and alkali-tolerant *Bacillus halophilus* HSHA1-2 and its application in degrading benzene-containing wastewater. The salt- and alkali-tolerant *Bacillus halophilus* HSHA1-2 provided by this invention exhibits excellent salt and alkali tolerance, and can stably and efficiently degrade benzene compounds under extreme saline-alkali environments.

A method for synthesizing 2-keto-L-gulonic acid using Bacillus strains as a substrate

This invention belongs to the fields of genetic engineering and bioengineering technology, specifically disclosing a method for synthesizing 2-keto-L-gulonic acid (2-KLG) using Bacillus as a substrate strain. This invention achieves single-strain, one-step fermentation for 2-KLG production using Bacillus as a substrate strain by introducing and expressing sorbitol dehydrogenase and sorbitol dehydrogenase with NAD(P)H or FADH as coenzymes in Bacillus. This invention provides a novel technical route for the microbial fermentation production of 2-KLG, with the potential to replace the traditional two-step fermentation process. It also provides reference and inspiration for the exploration and optimization of biosynthetic pathways for other important compounds.
