The iridium-loaded heterogeneous catalyst can be prepared through an impregnation method, and the prepared heterogeneous catalyst can be applied to preparation of higher alcohol biofuel through ethanol carbon-carbon coupling. According to the iridium-loaded heterogeneous catalyst prepared by the invention, the iridium dispersibility is good; and when the catalyst is applied to preparation of higher alcohols through ethanol coupling, the reaction conditions are mild, the higher alcohols with high selectivity are obtained under the conditions of lower reaction temperature and reaction pressure, the highest selectivity of butanol can reach 68.5%, and the highest selectivity of higher alcohols can reach 88.4%.
