[0037]Collect the dried and mature fruits of Alpinia zerumbet (Pers.) Burtt.et Smith from Yunnan, and dry them in a cool and dry place. Pharmacopoeia standard sieve No. 3 sieve. Put the sample into a round-bottomed flask, add 8 times the amount of pure water, stir and mix, soak for 1 hour and extract by steam distillation for 7 hours at a temperature of 60-70 °C. Collect the distillate, add a small amount of ethyl acetate to extract 3 times, then add anhydrous sodium sulfate to remove water, let stand overnight to volatilize the ethyl acetate, and separate the anhydrous sodium sulfate to obtain the essential oil of Ginger japonica with a yield of 0.83%. Analyzed by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry and searched with Nist.14 spectral library to determine the components in the essential oil of Ginger (Table 1). 64 compounds were identified in the essential oil of Ginger, accounting for 98.14% by mass. Abstract

The invention discloses application of alpinia zerumbet essential oil. The application specifically refers to application of the alpinia zerumbet essential oil in preparation of drugs or health products for treating and preventing central nervous system diseases. It is found for the first time that the alpinia zerumbet essential oil can improve symptoms of animals with nervous system diseases such as epilepsy in a zebra fish in-vivo model, when the concentration of the alpinia zerumbet essential oil ranges from 1 microgram / ml to 6 microgram / ml, the anti-epilepsy treatment efficiency is increased along with increase of the concentration, concentration dependence is shown, and EC50 is 2.86 microgram / ml. The present invention has good lipid solubility, is easy to pass through the blood brain barrier, thus having the characteristics of increased or improved toxicological safety (i.e. Reduced toxicity), increased or improved metabolic stability, longer half-life or less side effects, while producing similar or increased biological activity.
