Authentication of documents and articles by moiré patterns

The present invention relies on the moiré patterns generated when superposing a base layer made of base band patterns and a revealing line grating (revealing layer). The produced moiré patterns comprise an enlargement and a transformation of the individual patterns located within the base bands. Base bands and revealing line gratings may be rectilinear or curvilinear. When translating or rotating the revealing line grating on top of the base layer, the produced moiré patterns evolve smoothly, i.e. they may be smoothly shifted, sheared, and possibly be subject to further transformations. Base band patterns may incorporate any combination of shapes, intensities and colors, such as letter, digits, text, symbols, ornaments, logos, country emblems, etc. . . . . They therefore offer great possibilities for creating security documents and valuable articles taking advantage of the higher imaging capabilities of original imaging and printing systems, compared with the possibilities of the reproduction systems available to potential counterfeiters. Since the revealing line grating reflects a relatively high percentage of the incident light, the moiré patterns are easily apparent in reflective mode and under normal illumination conditions. They may be used for the authentication of any kinds of documents (banknotes, identity documents, checks, diploma, travel documents, tickets) and valuable articles (optical disks, CDs, DVDs, CD-ROMs, packages for medical drugs, bottles, articles with affixed labels).

Macromolecular material polymerization reaction kettle

The invention discloses a macromolecular material polymerization reaction kettle. The kettle comprises a kettle body, an upper closed cover, a drive sealing device, a stirring device, a feed and discharge port, wherein the upper part of the kettle body is an inverted cone-shaped wide mouth; the middle part of the kettle body is of a bucket shape; the lower part of the kettle body is cone; the kettle body is provided with a heating jacket 14 with a spiral flow channel and a heat insulation layer 9; the upper closed cover 6 is provided with a heating jacket 7, a heat insulation layer 9, a vacuum port 8 and a feed port 12; the stirring device consists of a stirring shaft 5, an inner strip-shaped spiral stirring paddle 3, an outer strip-shaped spiral stirring paddle 2, a scraping blade 16 and a supporting oar 18; the drive sealing device consists of a motor, a retarder and a sealing machine; and the upper part of the stirring shaft is connected with the drive sealing device. The macromolecular material polymerization reaction kettle has good stirring effect and high heat and mass transferring efficiency, can solve the difficult problems of pole climbing and devolatilization of high-viscosity fusant and is in particular suitable for the polymerization reaction of a high-viscosity macromolecular material.

Synthesis of superposition images for watches, valuable articles and publicity

InactiveUS20070041611A1Improve visual attractiveness and aestheticVisual indicationOther printing matterGratingDisplay device
The present invention aims at synthesizing superposition images formed either by band moire shapes or by shape level lines for making the information forwarded by valuable articles or by time pieces such as watches and clocks more dynamic, as well as for improving their attractiveness and aesthetics. A further application is publicity. For synthesizing band moiré images, the present invention relies on a band moiré image layout model allowing to obtain the layout of the base the band grating, given the layouts of the band moire image and of the revealing line grating. Base and revealing layer layouts may be conceived to create band moiré image shapes whose patterns move e.g. radially, circularly, or according to a spiral trajectory. Shape level lines occur in a superposition image when e.g. a base layer comprising modified sets of lines is superposed with a revealing layer comprising a line grating. Such a base layer embeds a shape elevation profile generated from an initial motif shape image (e.g. typographic characters, words of text, symbols, logo, ornament). By moving the revealing layer in superposition with the base layer, shape level lines move dynamically between the initial motif shape boundaries and shape foreground centers, respectively shape background centers, thereby growing and shrinking. The movement of the shape level lines creates visually attractive pulsing motif shapes, e.g. a pulsing heart or pulsing text. Categories of embodiments comprise (1) visually attractive articles having moving parts (watches, clocks, vehicles, publicity display devices, fashion clothes), (2) articles such as cosmetics, drugs, perfumes and wines, where one part is moved in respect to a second part, e.g. bottles having a lid or labels composed of two layers, (3) articles where the base layer and the revealing line grating are separated by a gap and form a fixed composed layer, and (4) articles where at least one of the layers is an electronic display.

Interferential position measuring device

Interference position measurement device comprises a light source (1), beam shaping optical element (2), measurement scale grating (3) and two scanning gratings (4.1, 4.2) so that an initial beam is split into two and then into third and fourth and possibly fifth and sixth beams of which at least two recombine in a detector plane (D). If there is a relative movement between the light source, measurement grating and scanning gratings a periodic interference band pattern is generated in the detection plane. Phase shifts are then measured with one of a number of methods. An interferential position measuring arrangement including a light source connected to a first object, which emits a beam of rays in a direction of an optical axis and an optical element arranged downstream of the light source, which converts the beam of rays emitted by the light source into an incoming beam of rays. A scale grating connected to a second object that moves relative to the first object, which splits the incoming beam of rays into a first partial beam of rays, which is propagated into a first spatial direction and a second partial beam of rays, which is propagated into a second spatial direction. A first scanning grating that causes splitting of the first partial beam of rays into third and fourth partial beams of rays and a second scanning grating that causes splitting of the second partial beam of rays into fifth and sixth partial beams of rays, wherein at least two of the third, fourth, fifth and sixth partial beams of rays meet again, and a periodically modulated interferential fringe pattern with a definite spatial interferential fringe pattern period results in a detection plane. A detection arrangement arranged in the detection plane.
