An apparatus and method are provided for determining whether a foot has outgrown a shoe. In one embodiment, a shoe comprises an insert that has one or more visible symbols thereon and is capable of absorbing perspiration from a foot. In one embodiment, the shoe may be, for example, a child's shoe. In this embodiment, the shoe is placed on a child's foot, and is worn by the child, during which time perspiration is produced by the child's foot and absorbed by the insert. The insert is then removed from the shoe and examined. One or more markings associated with the perspiration are detected, indicating the placement of the foot in the shoe. The position of the markings in relation to the symbols on the insert is examined. If the markings extend beyond a selected symbol, the child has outgrown the shoe.

A child carrier for carrying a child in a standing position on the back of the wearer is disclosed. The child carrier may have a shoulder harness having a first loop of material adapted to encircle a left shoulder area of a child carrier wearer, and a second loop of material adapted to encircle a right shoulder area of the wearer. The first loop of material and the second loop of material may be connected in an upper back region of the wearer. First and second handholds may be provided at the shoulder area of the first and second loops of material. A fixer for an infant foot transfusion comprises an ankle fixing seat and junction plates which are respectively fixed at two sides of the ankle fixing seat. The front end of the ankle fixing seat is movably connected with an instep fixing plate by a gemel. The junction plates at each side are respectively and movably connected with a regulating rod by the gemels. The end of the regulating rod is movably connected with one side of the instep fixing plate by the gemel. The regulating rod has two sections, and a regulating frame is arranged between the two sections. A tip of each section of the regulating rod is connected with the regulating frame by butterfly nuts and binding nuts. Two sides of the instep fixing plate and the two sides of the instep fixing plate are respectively connected with fixing straps, the tips of which are respectively sewed with nylon agraffes. For comfort, sponge gaskets are arranged on the instep fixing plate and inside the instep fixing plate. The present invention can conveniently fix the infant foot by the nylon agraffes on the fixing straps. The length of the regulating rod can be conveniently regulated, which is convenient to adjust an obliquity of the instep fixing plate, so as to make the infant instep keep a better pose for the transfusion being performed successfully.
