This machine is a cell for bulk palletizing a load such as the packaging of containers (bottles). The machine comprises a tier building system, a bulk load and dunnage supply systems. The cell also includes a programmable robot with cantilevered arm including an effector for transferring pallets, tiers of bulk product, tier sheets and top frames to the load build area. The effector includes an inverted drawer, suction means, pallet gripper means and top frame grippers for doing the transferring.

A method of packaging a rectangular electrolytic battery, comprising the steps of forming a sleeve from a flat, rectangular sheet of a laminate material by overlapping and joining opposite edges of the sheet; inserting a rectangular battery into one end of the sleeve, the battery having two electronic contacting leads extending from one side thereof and the battery being positioned within the sleeve wherein a portion of the leads is within the sleeve and a portion of the leads is outside said sleeve; joining the ends of the sleeve to form a seal along each end thereof, hermetically sealing the interior of the sleeve, one end of the sleeve forming a seal about the leads and the other end of the sleeve sealed adjacent the battery.

The present invention generally relates to a bubble package which allows a product to be displayed independently standing alone or hanging from a bracket/shelf, and also provides the ability to separate the paper and plastic portions of the package into at least two separate environmentally recycled portions. The paper based portion of the package operates as a display card and/or as a stiffener. The sides of the one or more display cards are bonded to one another to enclose the product within the plastic and prevent tampering with the product. The plastic portion, in addition to containing and displaying the product therein, optionally incorporates a base near the bottom of the package. The base protrudes from the bottom of the package and secures back onto the plastic portion via a securing mechanism. This arrangement allows the package to stand independent. Optionally, a corrugated plastic insert can be used to provide additional support to the unit. In a typical arrangement, the plastic portions and paper portions avoid being bonded or directly adhered to one another, allowing the card to be entirely separable and allowing for complete environmental recyclability.

The present invention concerns an apparatus for wrapping a load with a flexible wrapping material which prevents the flexible material from unwrapping itself after the load has been wrapped. The apparatus includes a supply of flexible wrapping material which can be delivered as a rope or as a full web. The apparatus includes a first finger and a gripper for positioning a portion of a first rope supplied by the supplying means at a predetermined location. The load and the supply are relatively moved to wrap the load with the flexible material. Once the load has been wrapped, a second finger and a guide wheel are provided to position a portion of a second rope supplied by the supply at the predetermined position. The first and second ropes are fastened together at the predetermined position, and the portion of the second rope is cut downstream of the predetermined position. Preferably, before the second rope is cut, the gripper is moved to grip the portion of the second rope, which is used as a first rope for a subsequent load. The present invention is also concerned with a method for wrapping a load.

A wrapping device provides at least a circular track structure which forms a closed track, and a film feeding device which is arranged to circulate along the track and to feed a film around a piece to be wrapped. The film feeding device includes a frame structure with a rotatable film roll and a feeding mechanism through which the film is arranged to be fed at a desired film tension. The frame structure can be disconnected from and reconnected to the film feeding device for the change of the film roll, and for the change of the film roll, the wrapping device also includes an automatic change system for the change of the frame structure. The frame structure is an integrated unit which can be independently disconnected from and reconnected to the film feeding device. The carriage device of the wrapping device is intended to carry along the film feeding device, and it includes several carriages placed one after the other and coupled to each other, wherein at least one the frame structure is placed or can be placed in one or more carriages.

A geared rotating cartridge for a waste disposal device having a geared rotation mechanism comprising an assembly of gears mounted on the device. The outside wall of the cartridge comprises a plurality of projections forming the teeth of a circumferential gear. The circumferential gear is operatively positioned thereon to interact with the assembly of gears of the geared rotation mechanism to allow for rotation of the cartridge directly by the geared rotation mechanism.

A portable terminal including a touch screen and method for displaying a cursor thereof are provided. The method includes determining whether a capacitance is equal to or greater than a first critical value and is less than a second critical value, if the change of the capacitance is sensed in the touch screen, displaying a cursor in an area where the change of the capacitance is sensed, if the capacitance is equal to or greater than the first critical value and is less than the second critical value, and performing a function corresponding to the area where the cursor is displayed, if the capacitance sensed in the area where the cursor is displayed is equal to or greater than the second critical value.

A tool used for wrapping boxes or shipments with plastic or other wrap in an ergonomic manner, as in warehouses or shipping departments. The tool is elongated and allows the user to rotate about the object to be wrapped. A tensioner makes it possible for the user to ensure that the wrapping is taught. A stopper allows the tool to come into contact with the ground.

The present invention provides for method and system in which a heat-shrinkable plastic cover is placed over an individual conventional medicine container. The cover is heat shrunk around the container to form a tight-fitting seal which covers the majority of the original medication container. The seal must be opened in order to gain entry into an individual medication container just prior to the use or the administration of the product in the container. The seal includes an easy-open mechanism, such as a pull-tab or perforated tear strip. The purpose of the seal is to distinguish high-alert medications and requires an additional safety step in the medication administration process by requiring the removal of an additional cover which entirely encloses the container. The non-adhesive nature of the seal is significant in that the removal of the seal does not damage the original product labeling or leave unwanted residue on the medication container. The seal includes an integrated warning statement directed to point-of-use, high-alert medication preparations for the person preparing the medication for use. The level of repackaging would distinguish categories of high-alert medications, alerting users as to the classification of the medication. Application of the seal offers the user visual cues and “tactile awareness” different from the look and feel of the original container to distinguish high-alert medications from other medications.

A wrapping device includes a base body which is connected with support elements and a holding arm. The holding arm has rotatably connected thereto a wrapping arm. The wrapping arm carries a roll holder. At the roll holder, a rotatably supported film roll is arranged for being displaced in a predetemined direction for wrapping up objects arranged on a pallet. For transporting the wrapping device, the support elements serve as fastening elements and are of hollow configuration such that support elements of a lift truck can be inserted therein.

Waste disposal device including a container defining a waste-receiving chamber, an insert defining a cavity receivable of a pack of flexible tubing for encapsulating waste packages and an inner lid connected to the container and selectively substantially covering or exposing an open top of the insert leading to the cavity. The inner lid and insert define a dispensing opening through which the tubing passes during use of the waste disposal device. An outer lid, optionally pivotally connected to the container, is movable between a position in which the waste-receiving chamber is accessible and a position in which the waste-receiving chamber is covered. A retention mechanism holds the waste package while a rotation mechanism causes rotation of the retention mechanism relative to the insert to cause a twist to be formed above a waste package when held by the retention mechanism and thereby encapsulate the waste package in the tubing.

A packaging system for improved management of cap inventory when different beverages, such as different types of milk (skim, 1%, 2% and whole) or water (spring, distilled, fortified, mineral etc.) are bottled in the same bottling lines at various facilities. The system includes maintaining a supply of standard caps, which may be free of colorants or pigments, and a supplies of reels of different colored (or differently printed) shrink sleeve material. The different types of beverage are bottled in containers that have a single standard cap and standard uniform bottles, and the different contents of said bottles are differentiated from one another by the application of colored (or distinctively printed) shrink sleeves or bands. The cap and/or the bottle neck are adapted to be engaged by the shrink band in a way that protects the bottle from being tampered with, and when threaded caps are used, helps prevent the inadvertent loosening of the caps during in shipment.

A bale wrapping system for wrapping a bale while maintaining independent control over both the sensor and brake assemblies. The bale wrapping system generally includes a support frame to secure a roll of wrapping material to a baler, a brake assembly secured to the support frame, wherein the brake assembly is adapted to brake a rotation of the roll of wrapping material, and a sensor assembly secured to the support frame, wherein the sensor assembly includes a sensor wheel adapted to measure an amount of outputted wrapping material. The brake assembly and the sensor assembly operate independent of each other with respect to the roll of wrapping material and the support frame. The support frame may be retrofitted to an existing baler through a coupler and a bracket extending from an elongated rod connecting opposing sides of the support frame.

A beverage dispensing kiosk that contains empty beverage containers and fills them with water and other beverages. The beverage containers comply with applicable regulations and standards to be designated “compostable.” The kiosk uses municipal water as the base, purifies the water, and adds constituents to meet the taste of the ultimate consumer. The lifting means includes an attractive glove lifting surface, wherein the lifting means includes within the lifting surface a movable member, the movable member being movable from a first position in which the movable member is substantially flush with the lifting surface to a second position in which the movable member stands proud of the lifting surface in order to help dislodge the lifted glove from the lifting surface. The movable member has a surface that is permeable to air flow through the surface, the glove lifting means including a source of positive air pressure and means to control the application of said positive air pressure through the permeable surface of the movable member in order to control the dislodging of the lifted glove from the glove lifting surface.

As a result, with respect to those binding portions requiring a low binding force, the binding is effected with a smaller turn number, so that the amount of consumption of the wire can be saved, and besides those pipes (such as electric wiring pipes and hot water pipes) which are lower in strength than the reinforcing bars can also be bound together.
