The invention relates to a negative dielectric anisotropic liquid crystal composition or rather a negative dielectric anisotropic liquid crystal composition containing one or more dichlorobicyclohexyl compounds and an application thereof. The composition is mainly used for electrooptical adjustment and is especially suitable for FFS (fringe field switching) displays, IPS (in-plane switching) displays and MVA (multi-domain vertical alignment)/PVA (patterned vertical alignment)/PSVA (polymer-stabilized vertical alignment) configuration VA (vertical alignment) type displays.
