Abstract

The invention discloses a preparation method and application of potassium ferrate. The method comprises the following steps: (1) introducing chlorine to a saturated sodium hydroxide liquor to prepare a high concentration sodium hypochlorite liquor, wherein the liquor per litter contains 400-500g of sodium hydroxide; (2) cooling the liquor to ice point, filtering and removing crystals in the liquor; (3) adding a saturated ferric trichloride aqueous liquor to the liquor, controlling the temperature near the ice point, and quickly stirring to form a sodium ferrate liquor; (4) filtering the sodium ferrate liquor, casting potassium hydroxide to the filtrate and slowly stirring to obtain crystals of potassium ferrate; and (5) filtering the crystals of potassium ferrate prepared by the step (4), and washing the potassium ferrate solid and vacuum drying to obtain the final product potassium ferrate.
