Abstract

According to the invention, through cooperation of components of a reaction system, synthesis of the water-retaining agent at room temperature (20 to 35 DEG C) is realized by using the single-component initiator without nitrogen protection, so energy consumption is low, and nitrogen introducing equipment and auxiliary equipment used due to addition of reduction components are not needed; thus, production cost is reduced in a plurality of aspects like raw materials, energy consumption and equipment, and the preparation method has an obvious cost advantage, is simple in process and can easily realize industrial production. The water-retaining agent retains good water absorbing performance when the content of the natural component vermiculite and sodium alginate is as high as 40%. The water-retaining agent has wide application prospects in the fields of farming, forestry and gardening.
