Abstract

The invention discloses high-strength EPDM (ethylene propylene diene monomer) rubber. The EPDM rubber is prepared from components in parts by weight as follows: 10-20 parts of ethylene, 15-25 parts ofpropylene, 45-55 parts of a third monomer, 0.6-1.2 parts of a catalyst, 800-900 parts of an organic solvent, 0.03-0.05 parts of a terminator, 0.01-0.05 parts of a stabilizer and 15-30 parts of modified carbon fibers. After the EPDM rubber is modified with the modified carbon fibers, the raw rubber performance, scorch safety and vulcanization property of the EPDM rubber are equivalent to those ofEPDM rubber without the modified carbon fibers, while after addition of the modified carbon fibers, tensile property of the EPDM rubber is improved greatly.
