Mobile lighting system

A portable lighting apparatus includes an envelope which contains a frame supporting an illuminating device typically an electric light bulb inside the envelope. The envelope is mounted on a telescopic mast supported by a movable base element incorporating stabilising legs. The envelope may be inflatable or rigid. For an inflatable envelope, various sensors are provided for sensing deformation of the envelope and / or pressure in the envelope including a photosensor. A means to supply air or other gas to inflate the envelope are provided. A rigid envelope formed from two conjoined sheets of acrylic deformed into dome shapes is also disclosed which overcomes many of the problems of inflatable envelopes particularly, their slow inflation rate, the tendency to deform due to air currents and the adverse effect of punctures. Although a fan is not required for inflation of the rigid envelope fan forced air is preferred for cooling the electric light bulb.

Lighting system

A light head is mounted on a common base, and includes a light source in a mounting base. The base is mounted on a collapsible elongated pole, and the pole is for mounting on an outside wall of a carrying case. There is a carrying handle for the case, an electrical power outlet mounted on a wall, base or lid of the case and for plugging in an electrical wire to power the light head. The interior of the case is for locating a rechargeable battery, and the battery when charged, supplies power to the power outlet such that the light head can be powered. Recharging can be via either a 12V DC automobile or a 110 AC power supply. The carrying handle is extendible; and retractable, and in the retraction mode is essentially within the general perimeter space of the case. The case includes a pair of pulley wheels, the wheels being for facilitating the moving of the case.

Light projector

A light projector includes a power generator 6; a bogie 1 for mounting the power generator 6; an extendable or retractable supporting column 2 vertically installed at the bogie 1; a balloon 4 arranged at an upper end of the extendable or retractable supporting column 2; and a lighting instrument 3 stored in the balloon 4, wherein the power generator 6 and the lighting instrument 3 can be electrically energized. The lighting instrument 3 is lit through supply of electricity from the power generator 6 installed at the bogie 1 and the light thus generated is changed into a soft-feeling light through the balloon 4 so as to enable the light to be projected in an outward entire circumferential direction of the balloon 4. Thus, even if the light projector is used as a night-time lighting for a road work and the like, the light of the lighting instrument can be radiated in a wide range without causing a driver of a passing vehicle to feel its glaring effect.
