Abstract

The invention discloses a use of a Qing'e prescription extract in preparation of an antidepressant and anxiolytic composition. With oral administration of the Qing'e prescription extract, the experimental animal mine field movement total distance can be increased, the tail suspension immobility time is reduced, the elevated plus maze open-arm time is increased, the forced swimming immobility time is reduced, and relatively good antidepressant and anxiolytic effects are shown. The Qing'e prescription extract can increase the contents of hippocampal area 5-hydroxytryptamine (5-HT), norepinephrine (NE) and gamma-aminobutyric acid (gamma-GABA), and reduces the content of glutamate (Glu).
