49 results about "Fine-needle aspiration" patented technology

Fine-needle aspiration (FNA) is a diagnostic procedure used to investigate lumps or masses. In this technique, a thin (23–25 gauge), hollow needle is inserted into the mass for sampling of cells that, after being stained, will be examined under a microscope (biopsy). The sampling and biopsy considered together are called fine-needle aspiration biopsy (FNAB) or fine-needle aspiration cytology (FNAC) (the latter to emphasize that any aspiration biopsy involves cytopathology, not histopathology). Fine-needle aspiration biopsies are very safe minor surgical procedures. Often, a major surgical (excisional or open) biopsy can be avoided by performing a needle aspiration biopsy instead, eliminating the need for hospitalization. In 1981, the first fine-needle aspiration biopsy in the United States was done at Maimonides Medical Center. Today, this procedure is widely used in the diagnosis of cancer and inflammatory conditions.

The invention discloses a dispensable continuous negative-pressure puncture outfit, which comprises a needle tube and a puncture needle, wherein a pintle is arranged in the needle tube; a stopping device is arranged between the puncture needle and the needle tube; at least one chute is arranged on the pintle axially; chute lateral plates are arranged on two sides of the chute; at least the chute plate on one side is provided with a locking groove; a locking clip is arranged on the end, in which the pintle is inserted, of the needle tube and can move up and down in the chute; and when the pintle is rotated, the locking clip is clipped in the locking groove to clip the pintle to prevent the pintle from moving down. Compared with the prior art, the puncture outfit has the advantages that: the structure is simple, the operation is convenient and ample sample can be accurately positioned and acquired, so the accuracy of fine needle aspiration cytopathologic diagnosis is improved greatly; the puncture time is reduce, pains suffered by patients are reduced, and an operator can concentrate to ensure puncture accuracy; and the drawback that the negative pressure is maintained by the traction force of the hand of the operator of the traditional puncture outfit is radically overcome, the operation is more flexible and quicker than the traditional puncture method, and a good needle feel is offered.
