The invention relates to a method for simultaneously detecting a variety of harmful gases in a workplace. The method adopts the gas chromatography method of a hydrogen flame ionization detector FID, simultaneously detects the contents of benzene, toluene, acetone, butanone, ethyl acetate and butyl acetate in the air of a workplace, and comprises: collecting the air of a workplace by using an active carbon tube, sealing, carrying out low-temperature storage, taking the front section active carbon and the rear section active carbon in the active carbon tube, respectively placing into an desorption bottle, respectively adding 1 mL of carbon disulfide, shaking for 1 min, desorbing for 30 min, determining the desorption solution, and quantitively analyzing benzene, toluene, acetone, butanone, ethyl acetate and butyl acetate in the air of the workplace by using an external standard method. According to the present invention, the method can simultaneously determine the contents of benzene, toluene, acetone, butanone, ethyl acetate and butyl acetate in the air of the workplace, can further improve the efficiency of the detection for toxic substances in the air of the workplace, can save alot of manpower and material resources, and further has advantages of simple operation, high accuracy and high detection efficiency.
