The invention relates to the technical field of smart homes, and discloses a frosting detection method for an outdoor unit, which comprises the following steps: acquiring operating parameters during heating operation of an air conditioner in real time, the operating parameters comprising the temperature of an outdoor coil and other operating parameters; based on the temperature of the outdoor coil pipe, time sequence attenuation characteristics used for representing dynamic changes of the temperature of the outdoor coil pipe in the frosting process are constructed; fusing the time sequence attenuation features with other operation parameters to obtain fused features; and inputting the fusion features into a pre-trained frosting state classification model to obtain a current frosting state judgment result. According to the scheme, the detection sensitivity at the initial frosting stage and the judgment accuracy and generalization robustness under complex working conditions are remarkably improved, and earlier, more accurate and more stable intelligent detection is achieved. The invention further discloses a frosting detection device for the outdoor unit, an air conditioner and a computer readable storage medium.
