The renal artery is one of two blood vessels that leads off from the abdominal aorta to the kidney. The other blood vessel is the renal vein.

Method for determining the correct position of windows in relation to the visceral and renal vessels in aortic endoprostheses

PCT designated stageWO2026105045A1StentsImage enhancementAorta aorticAorta diameter
Method for determining the position of windows in aortic endoprostheses, using images from preoperative CT computed tomography, wherein such endoprosthesis comprises a tubular sleeve (1) having a diameter slightly greater than the diameter of such aorta, on which one or more windows (2) must be made in correspondence with the centre of origin of a blood vessel branching from such aorta. The method comprises the following steps: a) on the axial image of such tomography, calculating the aortic arc of circle (AA) between the position (PB) of such centre of origin of the vessel with respect to a reference point (OA) taken on the circumference of the aorta, b) calculating a conversion parameter (P) dependent on the difference between the diameter of the aortic artery and that of the tubular sleeve (1), c) determining the position of the window (PF) on the prosthesis by calculating the arc of circle on the prosthesis (AM) between a reference point (OM) taken on the tubular sleeve (1), placed in juxtaposition to such reference point (OA) on the aorta (A), and such position (PF), by subtracting the value of such conversion parameter (P) from the value of the aortic arc of circle (AA).

Monitoring of neuromodulation using biomarkers

Provided herein are methods, devices, compositions, and kits for monitoring neuromodulation efficacy based on changes in the level or activity of one or more target biomarkers. A method can include transluminally delivering a distal portion of an elongated shaft of a catheter to a target renal blood vessel and at least partially inhibiting sympathetic neural activity of a renal nerve. The method includes determining a post-neuromodulation level of one or more biomarkers after at least partially inhibiting the sympathetic neural activity of the renal nerve, wherein the level of the one or more biomarkers directly or indirectly correlates with sympathetic nervous activity in the patient. The method can include comparing the post-neuromodulation level to a predetermined level for the one or more biomarkers, wherein the renal neuromodulation procedure is classified as at least partially successful if the post-neuromodulation level differs from the predetermined level.

A method for constructing a kidney humanized mouse model

The present application belongs to the field of biomedical technology, and relates to a construction method of an experimental animal model and a constructed experimental model, in particular to a method for constructing a kidney humanized mouse model based on human cells and a constructed kidney humanized mouse model. The construction method comprises the following steps: injecting mesenchymal stem cells, human umbilical vein endothelial cells and human renal tubular epithelial cells separated from urine into immunodeficient mice subcutaneously or subcapsularly to obtain a humanized kidney vascular unit mouse model communicating with the host. The model construction has the following characteristics: the cells used are derived from urine, have the characteristics of sufficient clinical source and convenient sampling, and the kidney source cells derived from urine can represent a unique individual alone, can be used to establish an individualized kidney humanized mouse model based on patients, and have the potential to be applied to individualized precision medical research; the model can form a functional human kidney vascular unit in mice, and has great application prospects in individualized precision medical treatment of kidney disease and human kidney specific virus infection research.

Application of AS-605240 in treatment of renal vascular smooth muscle lipoma related to nodular sclerosis

The invention provides application of AS-605240 in treatment of renal vascular smooth muscle lipoma related to nodular sclerosis, and belongs to the technical field of biological medicine. According to the application disclosed by the invention, the AS-605240 can be used for directly inhibiting the cell growth of the renal vascular smooth muscle lipoma related to the nodular sclerosis, and the AS-605240 can be used for preparing a medicine for resisting the renal vascular smooth muscle lipoma related to the nodular sclerosis, so that a new potential medicine is provided for treating the renal vascular smooth muscle lipoma related to the nodular sclerosis. The invention proves that AS-605240 can promote apoptosis of renal vascular smooth muscle lipoma cells related to the nodular sclerosis through a non-mTOR target point PI3K / AKT, so that the AS-605240 can treat the renal vascular smooth muscle lipoma related to the nodular sclerosis, and has good treatment and improvement effects on the renal vascular smooth muscle lipoma related to the nodular sclerosis.

Systems and methods for assessing the efficacy of neuromodulation therapy

Systems and methods for performing and assessing neuromodulation therapy are disclosed herein. One method for assessing the efficacy of neuromodulation therapy includes positioning a neuromodulation catheter at a target site within a renal blood vessel of a human patient and delivering neuromodulation energy at the target site with the neuromodulation catheter. The method can further include obtaining a measurement related to a dimension of the renal blood vessel via a sensing element of the neuromodulation catheter. The measurement can be compared to a baseline measurement related to the dimension of the renal blood vessel to assess the efficacy of the neuromodulation therapy. In some embodiments, the baseline measurement is obtained via the sensing element of the neuromodulation catheter prior to delivering the neuromodulation energy.
