An anti-theft device for protecting a portable electronic device from theft or unauthorized removal in a retail environment is provided. A shroud may at least partially enclose a portable electronic device. A dock may releasably engage the shroud such that the shroud and portable electronic device are locked to the dock when engaged with the dock. A key may engage activate a lock mechanism to release the shroud and the portable electronic device from the dock.

A manhole security cover includes a manhole cover body comprising a non-metallic RF signal transmissive material. The manhole cover body is seatable on a manhole frame to cover a manhole opening. Systems and techniques for vandalism detection in a personal communication structure (PCS) are described. The PCS may include one or more vandalism detection systems which may be located in different system compartments of the PCS. Each vandalism detection system may include (or being communicatively coupled to) an accelerometer and may be able to differentiate forces associated with acts of vandalism from other forces. The vandalism detection systems may transmit alerts with accompanying data to a remote entity. The data allows for an appropriate response to the alert. The alert may be transmitted to a remote security center over a wired or wireless communications system. The controller may transmit the alert again or to other locations if an acknowledgement is not received.

A radio frequency identification seal comprises an antenna including a main antenna portion and at least one break-away portion and an RFID tag coupled and tuned to the antenna. The RFID tag outputs a signature in response to a scanning signal when tuned to the antenna.

The disclosed embodiments include a method for tamper-proof protection of containers used for shipment of goods. The system contains a lock with electronic and mechanical components and a controller. A sensor is connected to a lock so that if forms a closed loop. The sensor can be an optical fiber or a distributed arrangement with an optical or an electrical shield. The electronics in the lock provide real time monitoring of the status of the lock. The lock cannot be opened or reproduced due to the signature of the closed loop which is stored in a remote server. Intrusions detected are relayed to an authorized recipient via a variety of communication channels. The data and control of the entire system is protected with several programs targeted to provide cybersecurity.

A tamper-proof bolt-seal incorporating a unique identification tamper detection sensor that cannot be restored or duplicated after the bolt. The sensor employs a resistive sensor wire embedded in the bolt. The resistive sensor wire has a randomized length to enable a unique resistive value for that sensor. The resistive value of the sensor is combined with an electronic identification code to create the unique seal identification for the tamper detection sensor, therefore giving the bolt a seal identification that is unique and that cannot be restored or duplicated.

The system comprises a printed circuit board having tamper-response electronics and a flexible circuit assembly defining a connector portion, a switch portion, and a cable extending between the connector portion and the switch portion. A security storage container for securely retaining an item of merchandise therein. The storage container is in the form of a box having a base and a lid, with the item of merchandise being received in the base. The lid is locked to the base by a locking mechanism. The storage container also includes an internally disposed alarm system which is activated when the lid is locked to the base and is deactivated when the lid is unlocked from the base. The lid can only be unlocked with a specially designed key. The alarm system includes a flashing LED which indicates to the consumer that the storage container has an activated alarm therein. The alarm system further includes an EAS tag for activating a security gate at an exit to the protected environment; and further includes a sound-emitting device that will emit a loud sound if an attempt is made to pry the lid from the base when the lid is in a locked position. The sound-emitting device will also emit the loud sound if the locked storage container is brought into the proximity of a security gate. The sound-emitting device will emit the loud sound for a predetermined length of time and will continue to emit that sound even if the security storage container is removed from the protected environment.

A wireless tracking system and method with a tag removal detection feature is disclosed herein. The system and method utilize a tag attached to an asset which includes a processor, a motion sensor (such as an accelerometer), a transceiver, a tag removal sensor and a power source having a limited supply of power. The tag removal sensor is a closed circuit device which is activated only when the motion sensor detects motion. In this manner, the tag conserves power since the tag is typically only in motion ten percent of the day. If the tag is removed from the asset, the closed circuit is opened, which confirms the removal of the tag from the asset, and an alert is activated by the system.

Locks, systems and methods of monitoring a lock, the lock having a hub with a slot rotatable by a handle to open and close a latchbolt. A locking member is moveable into and out of engagement with the hub slot to prevent and permit movement of the hub and latchbolt. A sensor on the lock, adjacent the hub and locking member, monitors a moving lock component. The sensor may sense the position of the locking member in or out of engagement with the hub slot. The sensor may be a reed switch actuated by a magnet on the moving lock component. The lock may further include a magnet mounted on the hub and the sensor may comprise a reed switch capable of being actuated by the magnet on the hub. The lock and system may include an external control unit having an alarm for controlling operation of the lock.

A method and apparatus for detecting intruders. The method includes the steps of a control panel of a security system detecting an intrusion of a secured area, the control panel entering a delay period before reporting the intrusion in order to allow entry of a disarm code through a control panel disposed on a structural surface proximate an entrance to the secured area, a sensor monitoring the control panel for movement and the control panel reporting the intrusion before expiration of the delay period upon detecting movement.

The present invention discloses a novel system for signaling intrusion of a protected space to a remotely located user. The system includes a lock mechanism and a sensor module that detects an unlocked state of the lock mechanism and in response sends out a signal to a central unit. The central unit then communicates to a remote device that indicates intrusion upon receiving the signal. The central unit and the remote device can be incorporated into one unitary system. Alternatively, the central unit can be integrated within the lock mechanism.

Enclosure door status may be detected. Light may be transmitted from a first component. The light may be received at a second component when a door is in a substantially closed position. The door may be mounted on a structure wherein an angle of incidence between the light transmitted from the first component and the second component increases proportionally to an angle of incidence between the door and the structure. The door may be determined to be in an open position when a light intensity received at the second component is less than a predetermined light intensity value that corresponds to a predetermined angle of incidence between the door and the structure. The first component may comprise a low divergence light emitting diode (LED) transmitter that may be configured to transmit light at a wavelength of approximately 950 nm. The second component may comprise a low profile silicon photodiode.

A system for monitoring a container includes a seal, a monitoring device and a communication center. The seal is used to lock the doors of the container. The doors can be opened only when the seal is broken or cut illegally. The monitoring device is connected to the seal when the doors are locked by the seal. The monitoring device is disconnected from the seal when the doors are released from the seal. The monitoring device detects the status and position of the seal when the doors are locked by the seal, and sends related data to the communication center so that the communication center can always determine the position of the container and whether the doors have been opened.

A storage delivery box is provided. The storage delivery box includes a housing having a base, sidewalls, a lid, and an interior volume. The lid is hingedly attached to the housing for selectively providing access to the interior volume. The lid includes a locking mechanism configured to automatically secure the lid when in a closed position. A door lock disposed on the lid includes an input for unlocking the lid when in the closed position. An auxiliary net removably attachable to the interior volume is configured to receive items that are too large to fit within the interior volume and secure them exteriorly to the storage box.

Improved systems and techniques are disclosed for controlling the security states of anti-theft security systems such as product display assemblies using security fobs. According to an example embodiment, a manager security fob and another security fob that is to be authorized for use in controlling the security status of a product display assembly can interact with a system in accordance with a defined sequence to add the another security fob to an authorization list for the product display assembly. For example, the defined sequence can be a connection of the manager security fob with the system, followed by a disconnection of the manager security fob from the system, followed a connection of the another security fob with the system within a defined window.
