Natural and environment-friendly external hydrogel which is used for skin and has good moisturizing and antibacterial efficacy is prepared from polymerization products from raw materials including alginate extracted from marine algae, seed gum extracted from plant seeds, chitin extracted from marine shrimps and crabs,acrylic acid and the like as well as a compound antibacterial agent. The hydrogel material is prepared from, in percentage by weight, 0.5%-5% of sodium alginate, 0.5%-8% of glossy privet fruit gum, 0.5%-5% of a modified acrylic acid polymer, 75.5%-99.5% of a propylene glycol water solution and 0.01%-2% of the compound antibacterial agent, wherein the volume fraction of the propylene glycol water solution is 2%-15%. The moisturizing characteristics of sodium alginate, glossy privet fruit gum and the modified acrylic acid polymer are researched, and compared with sodium alginate, glossy privet fruit gum and the modified acrylic acid polymer used alone, the gel composition has notably improved moisturizing effect; the compound antibacterial agent replaces a conventional antiseptic and antibacterial compound and is used for corrosion prevention of gel, and safe and efficient bacteriostasis of the hydrogel material is realized.
