The preparation method comprisesthe steps: adding the biochar and zero-valent iron powder in the chitosan solution, adding the hollow glass microspheres, and adding the mixture dropwise into the sodium hydroxide solution so as to obtain the ferromagnetic biochar spheres. The ferromagnetic biochar spheres have strong reducibility due to multiple adsorption sites, hexavalent chromium and methylene blue dye in wastewater can be removed simultaneously or separately, and the removal efficiency of the two pollutants reaches 50% or above.
