A tool that can properly align, level, and true up light switches and outlets is described. More particularly, the tool can properly align and true up single or ganged light switches and ganged duplex outlets at installation.

A ganging tool for adjusting the position of a pair of ganged wiring devices such as duplex receptacles, toggle, and decorator type switches on a mounting, e.g., an electrical box. The ganging tool has a frame having a pair of apertures for receiving different kinds of wiring devices and holding them in place while the ganging tool adjusts the position of the wiring devices. The ganging tool also has rotatable toggle adaptors that allow the ganging tool to be used to position both toggle type wiring devices and non-toggle type wiring devices. The ganging tool further has a leveling means for determining the level of the wiring devices. The installation bracket with level is used during the installation of heavy electrical boxes. The bracket has a wall plate and a support plate, with the plates connected to each other by at least one hinge. The wall plate includes mounting holes for mounting the bracket to a wall with support screws. The bracket includes a spirit level that allows the user to correctly align the bracket before mounting the bracket to the wall. The support plate has magnets on its bottom surface to hold the electrical box in a correctly aligned manner against a wall while the electrical box is being installed. An electrical fixture for facilitating the location of a corresponding opening in a construction panel. The electrical fixture comprises a housing for mounting to a stationary building structure behind the construction panel and a collar having a back portion that will eventually fit through the corresponding opening made in the construction panel and into the housing. The back portion of the collar can be locked within the housing. A placement jig is removably secured within the housing and has a cylindrical portion extending outwardly from the housing that will extend through a small preliminary opening made in the construction panel, so that the corresponding opening can be made in the construction panel to allow the back portion of the collar to fit therethrough.

The present invention is a device for printing an outline of an opening to be cut in wall to facilitate the installation of a GEM electrical box in the wall. The outline is substantially rectangular having a first and second set of sides. The first set of sides is shorter than the second set of sides and includes a semi-oval portion located at the middle of each side. A tool for installing various configurations of electrical boxes to framing studs during building construction includes a staff having graduations indicating distances from an end of the staff. A mounting fixture is slidably disposed on the staff and can be secured at a desired position along the length of the staff corresponding to a desired installation height for the electrical boxes. A template includes a base on which a plurality of wings are slidably mounted to move with respect to each other. The base also includes locks for locking the wings in positions. Levels, tape measures and markings are also on the base to assist with placement of the template.
