Test script transformation architecture

A test script transformation architecture helps generate accurate test scripts for evolving applications. Applications often have complex graphical user interfaces for which the permutations and combinations of GUI elements give rise to an enormous field of potential commands and command sequences to be tested. Furthermore, these applications change over time, rendering prior test scripts unworkable. The architecture facilitates the automatic generation of new test scripts to reliably test subsequent application versions, while greatly reducing the time, cost, and resource expenditures needed to arrive at new test scripts.

Efficient hosting of virtualized containers using read-only operating systems

A single operating system image is shared among multiple running virtualized containers such that each running container interacts with underlying shared files and resources in system storage. Each container running on a server are provided the same image, which remains consistent among the containers. Each image is named and versioned and each container is configured in a manner that defines which underlying image is used when the container is started. When updates to the image are made, a new image is be generated, and the containers are be switched to the new image by changing configuration properties associated with the container and restarting the container.

Systems and methods for correlating log messages into actionable security incidents and managing human responses

Systems and methods for correlating log messages into actionable incidents. Some embodiments implement a method which includes comparing a plurality of disparate log messages to a plurality of incident descriptions. The disparate log messages can be parsed. When the messages correlate with an incident description an incident case can be created. Workflow steps can be associated with the incident case and output along with the incident case. Additional disparate log messages can be compared to the incident expressions and, when additional messages correlate with the correlated incident description, the incident case can be adjusted. In some embodiments, the adjustment can include adding workflow steps to the incident case. Results of various workflow steps can be monitored and adjustments can be made accordingly. In some embodiments, the results can include out-of-bounds activities.

System and method for information handling system redundant storage rebuild

Out-of-order reconstruction of a RAID storage device at a replacement storage device enables the replacement storage device to execute I / O for reconstructed regions during reconstruction of the replacement storage device. In one embodiment, the failed storage device is analyzed to find recoverable information, which is copied to the replacement storage device to reduce the need for reconstruction. In another embodiment, the priority for region's reconstruction is increased upon detection of an I / O to the region. The I / O is queued until reconstruction of the region and then executed after reconstruction of that region so that I / O at the region need not be repeated during reconstruction of the remainder of the replacement storage device.

Content delivery architecture for mobile access networks

Systems and methods are provided for delivering content in a communications system. A communications system is provided that includes a plurality of terminals and a content director. The terminals are adapted to communicate via a communications network, and are each capable of requesting and thereafter receiving content via the communications network. The content director, on the other hand, is capable of receiving a request for content from one terminal. The content director can then push the content to the terminal based upon the request, and push the content to at least one other terminal before the other terminals request the content. Each terminal can have an associated user interest correlation with each other terminal. In such instances, the content director can push the content to other terminals based upon the user interest correlation of the other terminals with respect to the terminal requesting the content.

An economic engine generates accurate cost estimates for adapting a test script for use against an evolving application. Applications often have complex graphical user interfaces for which the permutations and combinations of GUI elements give rise to an enormous field of potential commands and command sequences to be tested. Furthermore, these applications change over time, rendering prior test scripts unworkable. The economic engine generates cost reports that reliably estimate the resources and time needed to produce new test scripts and test subsequent application versions, while greatly reducing the time, cost, and resource expenditures needed to arrive at subsequent application versions.

Cellular communication system and a method of operation therefor

A cellular communication system is supported by first physical layer processes, second layer user plane control processes and third layer control plane control processes. The first layer process is executed in a base station (101). A distribution controller (113) allocates the layer processes such that the second layer process is executed in a different network element than the third layer process. The second and / or third layer process may furthermore be allocated to a different network element than the base station (101) executing the first layer process. The second and / or third layer process may be allocated to base stations (103, 105). This allows improved load balancing and / or may reduce RNC relocations in a system having base station RNC functionality.

Storage system and controller for controlling remote copying

The reconfiguration controller selects for each data whether or not to execute remote copying of data from the first storage device to the second storage device. Each data sent from the host to be stored in the first storage device contains a copy policy tag that defines the policy relating to remote copying. The reconfiguration controller determines whether or not remote copying of the each data is necessary based on the copy policy tag of the each data, and selectively transmits the data requiring remote copying to the second storage device.

Method, Receiver And Transmitter For Improved Hybrid Automatic Repeat Request

The present invention relates to methods and a transmitter and a receiver for a mobile communication system. The basic idea of the present invention is to recursively derive from previous HARQ feedback the number of HARQ transmissions that is required to be able to decode the transmitted data successfully and to only transmit explicit HARQ feedback information if the decoding result differs from the derived result.

System and method to coordinate data storage device management operations in a data storage subsystem

The invention provides system, apparatus and procedure to coordinate the data management operations in a data storage system. The data management operations are performed on data stripes, which are distributed across a plurality of disk drives. According to the procedural aspect of the invention a task director first executes a first operation and a second operation of the data management operations at a concurrent time. The first operation is a different operation than the second operation. The first operation includes a first set of tasks and the second operation includes a second set of tasks. The execution of each task of the first and second sets of tasks are directed by the task director.

Generation of occlusion data for image properties

A method of generating an occlusion image property map for an occlusion viewing position for a three dimensional scene is provided. The occlusion image property map comprises at least some image property values that are occluded from the occlusion viewing position. The method utilises an algorithm which can generate an image property map for an image representing the scene as a function of a viewing position. The method generates (701, 703) image property map for different viewing positions by performing the algorithm for these positions. The occlusion image property map is generated (705) from the image property maps of different viewing positions. Specifically, the image property maps may in some examples be shifted to the occlusion viewing position and data of the occlusion image property map is then selected as a pixel from the shifted image property maps which does not correspond to the most forward pixel (unless all pixels have equal depth).

Generation of triangle mesh for a three dimensional image

An apparatus is arranged to generate a triangle mesh for a three dimensional image. The apparatus includes a depth map source (101) which provides a depth map and a tree generator (105) generates a k-D tree from the depth map. The k-D tree representing a hierarchical arrangement of regions of the depth map satisfying a requirement that a depth variation measure for undivided regions is below a threshold. A triangle mesh generator (107) positions an internal vertex within each region of the k-D tree. The triangle mesh is then generated by forming sides of triangles of the triangle mesh as lines between internal vertices of neighboring regions. The approach may generate an improved triangle mesh that is suitable for many 3D video processing algorithms.

Memory System for Optimized Search Access

A memory system and search method are provided for searching a multi-field longest prefix match (LPM) in a search term. The method provides a first LPM rule memory, where an LPM rule includes explicitly defined bit values in at least the n most significant bit (MSB) positions in a field of digital information, where n is an integer greater than or equal to 0. The method accepts a search term and compares at least a first field in the search term to subset rules structured in a sorted search tree for a first field organized as a LPM rule in the first LPM memory. When an explicit match is not found to the subset rules, the first field in the search term is compared to superset rules for the first field in the first LPM memory. As a final step, the method performs an instruction associated with a matching rule.
