Abstract

The invention relates to an aluminum alloy melting covering agent consisting of the following components: 8-16 parts by weight of boron carbide, 5-10 parts by weight of silica sand, 12-25 parts by weight of nanometer ceramic, 12-20 parts by weight of aluminum oxide, 15-26 parts by weight of rice husk ash, 10-30 parts by weight of modified expanded perlite, and 8-20 parts by weight of wollastonite. The melting covering agent is integrated with multiple functions such as deoxygenation, deaeration, and edulcoration; and the melting covering agent is of substantially strong adsorption, dissolution and chemical combination slagging abilities. The melting covering agent can restore the oxide inclusion in the molten aluminum alloy; and the melting covering agent can also remove hydrogen, oxygen and metal oxide adhered on the melting covering agent. The large surface tension between the melting covering agent and the melt can accelerate the flotation and flow of the slag, thereby allowing the slag to be separated from the molten aluminum better, and accordingly achieving the effects of refining and eliminating impurities as well as purifying the melt. The melting covering agent is of substantially strong chemical stability and thermal stability, without causing corrosion to the molten aluminum and the furnace lining, thereby ensuring the original components and the performance of the alloy.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to an aluminum alloy smelting covering agent, which belongs to the technical field of aluminum smelting. Background technique [0002] Aluminum and aluminum alloys often contain impurity elements such as hydrogen, oxygen, sulfur, lead, bismuth, and arsenic in the smelting process. These impurity elements have a great influence on the thermal conductivity and processing performance of aluminum. For example, oxygen and sulfur are likely to cause "cold brittleness" of castings, lead and bismuth are likely to cause "hot brittleness" of materials, and hydrogen is the most common and most harmful gas in aluminum, which will cause a large number of pipes to foam and cause serious quality accidents. Adding an appropriate amount of smelting covering agent in the smelting process of aluminum and aluminum alloy can play the role of degassing, slag removal and grain refinement. [0003] At present, the methods for removing hydrogen during re...
