This invention discloses a switching
system and method for regulating the
water depth of a microalgae raceway
pool, belonging to the technical field of microalgae cultivation. The
system includes a raceway
pool with a lifting overflow weir mechanism on one side. An overflow collection trough and a
storage tank are located on the side of the lifting overflow weir mechanism away from the raceway
pool. A drain
pipe and a return pump connect the overflow collection trough and the
storage tank. The return pump is connected to the drain
pipe and a return
pipe is connected to the return pump. The end of the return pipe away from the return pump is connected to the raceway pool. By adjusting the height of the lifting overflow weir mechanism to change the overflow boundary, and in conjunction with the storage and return, the
water depth can be switched during the
inoculation period, rapid growth period, high-density cultivation period, and diurnal conditions. During the day, the
water depth is lowered to shorten the light path and improve light reception efficiency, while at night, the water depth is increased to enhance temperature stability. This
system achieves low-cost modification without altering the existing raceway pool structure and is suitable for the large-scale cultivation of microalgae such as Spirulina,
Chlorella,
Scenedesmus, and
Dunaliella.
